about

Dose VIII was recorded on 4/23/2011, and serves as an odd standout in our collection so far. We have deduced that the gear used consisted of handdrums, a Boss RC-50 looper pedal, a Korg Kaoss Pad, and the Roland VP-330. The dry/wet signal mix of the vocoder allowed more percussion to bleed through, and the Kaoss Pad gave a versatility and expression to the effects mix (such as flanger, grainshifter, and delay/ tape echo emulations). The organic tones of the drumbeats blended into the haunting synthetic voices, only to be warped and mangled by a digital onslaught of modulation.
